Landscape photography in Dolgellau

There are so many landscape photography opportunities in Dolgellau. It really is a fantastic base to explore the area. This Vlog was mainly shot at llyn cynwch which you will find on the precipice walk. It's fairly difficult to find but the postcode LL402NG should lead you there. You may want to do some research before you go as I believe there is now another walk called the new precipice walk which is completely different. There's a carpark and the walk takes about an hour or so if you take in the full circuit, which I would highly recommend. The views over Coed y Brenin and Barmouth are breathtaking. You will also find a hill fort which is a short trek up the hill from the main path, you can see this in the final drone shot on the video.

The first shot is actually my least favourite from the vlog. I feel like I tried to include too much and the composition suffered because of this. The bright right-hand side meant I had to shoot a 5 shot bracketed exposure to get all of the detail in the trees to the left. whilst I'm not averse to hdr I do prefer to capture my images in 1 shot if possible. Sadly I don't think a filter would have been able to help on this occasion, which left me no other choice.

This image was captured on the fuji X-t2 with the 50-140mm f2.8 lens. At 50mm F7.1 iso 200 30th second base exposure and 5 bracketed shots blended in Lightroom.

The second shot which is my favourite from the vlog was a much simpler composition and for this reason, it looks more pleasing to me.

This image was captured on the fuji X-t2 with the 50-140mm f2.8 lens. At 120mm F7.1 iso 200 60th of a second.

The last shot was quite interesting as I didn't notice the fisherman at the very far left until I got back to edit the shot. He's hard to spot but kind of adds to the image when you know he's there.
